“Gerald Ford” EL PORTAAVIONES QUE LIDERA EL CAMINO
Published January 2024
The aircraft carriers occupy a vital position within the United States Naval Aviation because they are a vital part of supporting the United States Naval vision and mission. The support of a technological advanced carrier air wing is essential for the fleet, partly because the capabilities of the possible adversaries have also taken a major step forward in recent decades.
With the developments of new players moving in on the global military stage, trying to secure their position as a new world power, the United States Navy is presented with a significant challenge to stay ahead of the game with technological capabilities in both the ships in the fleet and the capabilities of their aircraft. With the introduction of fifth generation fighters, the F-35C in the operational squadrons, an important step has been taken to further develop stealth capability combined within a strong electronic command center controlled capability with the aim of ensuring air superiority for the carrier air wing. Enage Armed Forces Reports visited CVN-78 USS Gerald R. Ford in the Mediterranean, off the coast of Greece, to witness the integral carrier deck flight operations while operating all the new technological advanced systems.
