Red Flag Alaska the intensity of a regular Red Flag... but colder..
Published October 2022
As eight Osan based A-10’s have their final checks performed by groundcrew, General Electric F110 engines of ten 35th FS Aggressor F-16’ spool up. Within the next hours they will be executing a complex mission over the 67000 square miles range. A mission that will help them survive the critical first ten real combat missions, if and when the day comes.
One hundred aircraft and helicopters, some 1,600 men and women of 22 units from all services, almost endless training space with very few flying and noise restrictions… It sounds like the perfect ingredients for intense, high end, air operations training. And so they are and it is called Red Flag Alaska, and the second edition of 2022 took place from 13th of June until the 24th of June.
