Rapid Forge

Rapid Forge is a USAFE-led exercise to bring the readiness of the airforce and his NATO allies to a higher level and to test the ability to function at locations other then their main airbases. Its based on the CSW (Combat Support Wing) concept. The concept gives the airforce more abiltity to deploy rapidly to forward operating locations closer to the fight. Within this concept multifunctional capibilaty is key stone like weaponloaders will learn how to drive a fueltruck, security forces will be learned to refuel a jet and a maintainer can secure the area.
The USAF had deployed F-35A Lightning II from the 388th FW Hill Airforce Base Utah and F15E Strike Eagle from the 4th FW Seymour Johnson Airforce Base to Spangdahlem Airbase for Operation Rapid Forge. Additional USAFE based aircraft that participated where 2x C-130J from the 86th AW at Ramstein Airforce Base Germany 2x C130J from the 317thAW Dyess Airforce Base deployed to Ramstein Airbase, 1x MC-130J from the 352nd SOW and 2x KC-135T from the 100th ARW all located at Mildenhall Airforce Base United Kingdom.
